The action of the globes has to be seen to be believed. This lure produces a tremendous wake on a
straight retrieve and looks like a torpedo coming right for the boat. These lures are quality built
from top to bottom. They are made with a stainless through shaft and brass screws. There is a
primer coat to seal the wood, then the body has a minimum of four coats of paint layered in on top
of that. It's finished off with a clear sealer. The color patterns are fabulous.

Back in the 1950's, muskie's were on the minds of two Wisconsin men who fished the waters of the north woods. Wanting a lure with greater muskie appeal, they developed the Gopher. Designed to mimic the swimming action of a small rodent, the original lure proved to be very successful. The original Gophers are now highly sought after by antique lure collectors. The Gopher bait is now made again by one of the original makers. August Machtig of Sheboygan, Wisconsin is now producing the Gopher. The Gopher baits are constructed with wooden bodies, unique flock finish and through wire construction. Each bait has a collector ID number etched on the paddles.
