The Grubby JoeTM is an incredibly effective life-like lure for both fresh and saltwater big gamefish. It is best fished on a heavy action baitcasting outfit with non-stretch super braid style lines in the 40 to 85 pound test range. For shallow water fish, simply cast the Grubby JoeTM out and retrieve it steady - adjusting your retrieve speed to keep it up off the bottom or over top weed cover and/or bottom debris. Retrieve the lure super fast and it will nearly break the surface - creating a bulge that can be deadly in warm water. Retrieve it slower for sluggish fish in colder waters or cold front fish hugging tighter to cover.
